Max Voght
Max Voght first got involved with thought reform groups when he was 12 years
old, being initiated into the Transcendental Meditation (TM) movement with his
parents. Spending his teenage years very involved with the TM movement, he spent
one year of college in 1977 at the then, Maharishi International University, now
Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield Iowa. At 29, he was losing
interest in TM and found a new group which was headed by JZ Knight who channels
"Ramtha". Leaving a lucrative real estate business in Cincinnati, Ohio, Max sold
everything and moved to Lewis County Washington to be involved in "Ramtha's
School of Enlightenment" and to prepare for "the days to come" which Ramtha said
was a series of environmental and political disasters. The "changes" were
supposed to be completed by 1996 following a major economic depression in 1987.
When Max lost interest in this group about 1995, he found another group more
fundamentally destructive called "The Society for Ascension". Within one year,
Max got himself out of that group when a life threatening situation happened
with the group on the island of Fiji. Since 1996, Max has been "group free" for
the first time in his life since he was 12 years old. He is now working to
create a successful and healthy life, free from thought reform groups and
religions, owning his own Real Estate Company in Centralia, Washington.
