ICSA's 2008 conference at the University of Pennsylvania has a rich program for former group members, families, mental health professionals, researchers, legal professionals, and others. (See talks by tracks, talks by days, and talks by title for details on the conference and preconference workshops.) All attendees will receive a copy of the 113-page conference handbook, which is also available for your review here.

More than 100 speakers - experts from around the world - will contribute to the conference.

The conference includes abundant time for breaks and meals, as well as evening socials.  This gives attendees many opportunities to talk informally with speakers and other attendees.

This is the conference to attend, if you want to learn about this field, meet experts, sharpen your professional skills, find out about current research, or enhance your capacity to help yourself or a loved one adversely affected by a cultic experience.

There are substantial discounts for early registration and for current ICSA members, so register soon.  Nonmember registration includes a complimentary ICSA membership. (See fees.)

Budget accommodations are available at the University, as are hotels - see lodging information.

Transportation: directions, maps, parking on campus, airport travel, Amtrak, bus.

Meals are available on and off campus.  We have recreational events scheduled for the conference.  Philadelphia has a wealth of cultural resources. Other recreational resources.

Come to Logan Hall to pick up your registration packet.

This conference will include a new Phoenix Project exhibit, first presented at our 2006 Denver conference.  The Phoenix Project is designed as an exhibit of cult-related artwork created by former members of cults, or high-demand organizations. The artworks exhibited illustrate or illuminate some aspect of the cult or high-demand experience: the world of ex-members, their healing or recovery, or their time of transition from their cult or high-demand organization. Creations range among the art forms, and include visual artworks in two and three dimensions, literary art presentations, and compositions of music.
