Authority: Its Use and Abuse -
A Christian Perspective
Floyd McClung, Jr.
Editor's Note: The following article, which presents a conservative evangelical
view of the abuse of authority, continues the dialogue begun in the special CSJ
issue (Vol. 2, No. 2), "Cults, Evangelicals, and the Ethics of Social
Influence." It also presents another perspective on the organization, Youth with
a Mission, which was criticized in the article, "My Experience in YWAM: A
personal Account and Critique of Cultic Manipulation," by Laurie Jacobson (CSJ,
Vol. 3, No. 2, 1986, pp. 204-230). As always, comments are welcome.
